FLU FOOD and FLU DEFENSE

Posted on 2009-12-31 08:11:06

A new term has been coined: "FLU FOOD" or food that fuels the flu. FLU food is consumed passionately by millions of Americans in many different forms. The main ingredient of FLU FOOD is sugar!! Dairy and wheat are also major FLU FOODS. The effects of all three of these are increased by antacids.

As for FLU DEFENSE, your tools are your nervous system, the liver, and the colon. Take care of your defenses by getting adjusted regularly, by eating daily your ABC's (Apples, Beets, and Carrots), and by taking daily your probiotics and fish oil.

What is Chiropractic? Part 5 of 5

Posted on 2009-12-30 04:33:22

Today we'll show you the the final example that proves Chiropractic has always been a health Science, Art, and Philosophy since day one. Funny thing is--so are all the other healing arts, including medicine. It is my opinion that evidence based Chiropractic is a must. And trust me, there is a ton of evidence out there proving Chiropractic-- both inside the profession and outside of it. There is evidence to back up not only musculoskeletal issues (which, of course, we are the best at), but also organic issues.

Example 4---Only 38% of medical physicians and health care workers get flu shots. Innovations in Wellness Magazine

Example 2--Chiropractic helps fight oxidative stress in healthy people. Swedish researchers at the University of Lund compared people under chiropractic care for general wellness to patients with conditions such as diabetes, cancer, and heart disease. They found that blood levels of Thiol, an antioxidant promoting DNA repair, were three times higher in those undergoing chiropractic care for overall good health/Non symptomatic, than in patients with active diseases. Long term chiropractic care (longer than one year) showed the greatest results. Good Medicine Magazine

Clark Chiropractic Clinic Receives 2009 Best of Porter Award

U.S. Commerce Association’s Award Plaque Honors the Achievement

WASHINGTON D.C., June 8, 2009 -- Clark Chiropractic Clinic has been selected for the 2009 Best of Porter Award in the Chiropractors category by the U.S. Commerce Association (USCA).

The USCA "Best of Local Business" Award Program recognizes outstanding local businesses throughout the country. Each year, the USCA identifies companies that they believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and community.

Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2009 USCA Award Program focused on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the USCA and data provided by third parties.

Chiropractic can help Repetitive Stress Disorders

Posted on 2009-12-21 04:17:29

Most repetitive stress injuries, including tennis elbow, are caused by tendonitis, an inflammation of the fibrous tissue that connects muscles to bones. Carpal tunnel syndrome, another type of repetitive stress injury, is caused by nerve inflammation in the wrist. Doctors usually treat these conditions with anti-inflammatory drugs, including steroid injections in severe cases. For carpal tunnel syndrome, surgery to "release" pressure on the nerve is sometimes recommended.

Chiropractic, a more conservative approach, is effective for virtually all types of repetitive stress disorders. Adjustments to realign joints and improve range of motion can reduce pressure on tendons and nerves. The movements also improve lymphatic drainage, which reduces inflammation, improves circulation and accelerates healing.

Chiropractic can help Sinusitis

Posted on 2009-12-17 04:07:13

People with chronic sinusitis (inflammation of the mucous membranes in the sinuses) rarely get long-term relief from antibiotics or other types of conventional medicine, such as antihistamines and decongestants. Chiropractic can sometimes relieve all or most of the typical symptoms, such as facial pain and nasal congestion. People with chronic sinusitis often have a misalignment in the cervical vertebrae. Chiropractic adjustments may help sinuses drain more efficiently. The treatment for sinusitis also includes applying pressure to the sinuses near the eyebrows and on either side of the nose.

Chiropractic can help Ear Infections

Posted on 2009-12-15 05:01:24

Some adults and virtually all children accumulate fluids in the Eustachian tube, the passage between the throat and middle ear. The fluid is a perfect medium for viruses and bacteria, which can cause otitis media, an infection or inflammation of the middle ear. Many studies have shown that without antibiotics, chiropractic can relieve and prevent ear infections. The treatments, which include chiropractic adjustment and massage of the lymph nodes along the neck and around the ear, help drain excess fluid. The adjustment helps regulate the nervous system, which in turn drains the Eustachian tube and promotes long-term drainage.

Chiropractic can help Colic

Posted on 2009-12-14 04:27:16

A study published in Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics found that colicky babies treated with chiropractic cried about three fewer hours daily than they did before, compared to a one-hour reduction in those given the drug dimethicone, a standard treatment. The adjustments given to children are very gentle. Many have a reduction in colic after just one or two treatments. Look for a chiropractor who specializes in children's problems.

Tension Headache

Posted on 2009-12-10 03:28:26

The headaches that we all get from time to time often are related to the cervical spine in the neck. Known as cervicogenic headaches, these occur when vertebral misalignments cause muscle tightness or spasms. The tension begins in the neck but can radiate through the occipital nerves that rise upward from the base of the skull. A study that compared patients receiving chiropractic care for tension headaches with those who were treated with the antidepressant amitriptyline showed reduction in both the frequency and pain intensity of these types of headaches. Most important, the chiropractic patients sustained these improvements after the treatment period, unlike patients who were treated with medication. In a typical treatment, the chiropractor attempts to realign the cervical joints by adjusting the neck and head. The main goals of the treatment, apart from adjusting the vertebrae, are to increase the range of motion, relax the surrounding muscles and decrease pain and inflammation. People who have only recently started getting headaches often will improve after one or two sessions with a chiropractor. Those who have suffered from headaches for years probably will require multiple treatments before they start to notice a significant improvement.

Surgical masks---Do they really keep out bacteria??

Posted on 2009-12-09 02:24:16

Did you know that the holes in a surgeon's mask are about 100 times the size of the bacteria? How could the mask stop bacteria??! I liken it to a big jet airplane--the hole in the mask is the size of an airplane, and the germs are the size of a football. It's simply a silly medical tradition!

Life is Like a Candle

Posted on 2009-12-08 04:09:04

A candle burns brightly all the way to the end, flickers once, and goes out...life is supposed to be like that--full potential and life vibrant...flicker once and go out. Unfortunately most people flicker all through their lives and never burn as brightly as they could under regular chiropractic care.

Termites in the Kitchen

Posted on 2009-12-07 08:05:32

A few termites do not mean much and will not do much damage alone, but over the years,if not controlled, they multiply and can totally destroy the framework of a house so that one day you unexpectedly walk across your kitchen and the floor collapses under your feet.Subluxations are like those termites--the time to correct them is when they are small and a few, not later when it is too late and when the last thing comes--symptoms. By the time symptoms come it's too late; the termites have already taken over.
