Keep the Communication Lines Open

God created the body with a master system (the nervous system). The nervous system controls every cell in your body. Subluxations block or interfere with the nerve channel to the cells. Omega 3 fatty acids (fish oils) are essential for the stimulus to enter the cell. In order to have optimal health, energy, and healing, you must maintain both channels. So get adjusted regularly and supplement with omega 3 fatty acids.

The discipline to exercise on a regular daily basis will accelerate your recovery to achieve more energy. I know you may think you do not have enough energy to exercise in the first place. I can promise you if you just start walking or bouncing on a ball or mini-trampoline you will increase blood and lymph flow. The cells in your body will celebrate with the addition of fresh nutrient rich blood flowing through their outer membranes. I know you will be pleasantly surprised with your renewed passion and enthusiasm for LIFE.

Do you avoid salt??

Ok- I’m going to share a little secret with you: Your body is created to function just like a car battery. What is needed in a battery? You need minerals to make the battery function optimally. I use Celtic® sea salt which is a healthy alternative to commercial grade salt. If you add ¼ teaspoon of Celtic® sea salt to 20 oz. of pure water it will charge your battery. Try putting some CSS on a slice of cucumber and/or apple.

Energy Level Indicators

The most common challenge plaguing nearly every age group that presents itself to my office is EXHAUSTION. I have little children that come in tired, moms that look at me with drooping eyes, and dads who drag. You can determine adrenal function by completing a saliva based Adrenal Stress Index (ASI). You can also check for adrenal health based on your sodium and potassium levels which can be accurately revealed through a hair analysis.

Breakfast Party

 

 

Our annual Breakfast Party is simply our way of saying “Thank You” to our awesome practice members.

 

So… on Saturday, October 3rd , “Chef Clark Chiropractic Team” will be cooking Pancakes and Breakfast Burritos along with a tasty selection of fruit salad.

 

The breakfast party will be held in our parking lot, so there’s plenty of room for everyone to eat, walk around, and… eat some more.

 

So why not join us for some food and fun at our party! RSVP with Tracie at your next office visit, or give the office a call at 281-354-8330. (This will help our office to make sure everything is right!)

Learning about FATS can seem confusing-- part 2

Trans fats: These fats form when vegetable oil partially or completely hardens, a process called hydrogenation, and can raise LDL (bad cholesterol) levels, and lower HDL (good cholesterol) levels, which of course is the complete opposite of what you need in order to maintain good heart health. In fact, trans fats – have been linked repeatedly to heart disease. These fatty acids can also cause major clogging of your arteries, type 2 diabetes and other serious health problems.

Monounsaturated fats: The best oil here is olive oil.

I have some VERY EXCITING INFORMATION to pass on to YOU!! I have been blessed to discover a BLOOD SPOT EFA test that will tell the end user, (which would be you of course) the exact levels of the different Essential fats in your body. The real significance of this is that you can create a strategy to prevent conditions like:

Heart disease

Cancer and other degenerative conditions

To make sense of all the labels, I have some nuggets for you:

Saturated Fats: Saturated fats are found in animal products. Saturated fats are not as dangerous as you think. In fact, coconut oil is quite healthy and is the oil I recommend that you use for cooking since it is far less likely to be damaged through heating. A misguided fallacy that persists to this day is the belief that saturated fat will increase your risk of heart attacks. Folks, this is simply another myth that has been harming your health for the last 30 or 40 years. The truth is, saturated fats from animal and vegetable sources provide a concentrated source of energy in your diet, and they provide the building blocks for cell membranes and a variety of hormones and hormone like substances.

Did you know that your brain is about 60% fat?

The fats you eat strongly influence your level of brain function. Some nutritional anthropologists believe the human brain would not have developed as it did without access to high levels of DHA (a type of fat) found in fish and wild game and created from flax oil. Just two generations of high omega-6 and low omega-3 fats can lead to profound changes in brain size and function. It is the type of fat that matters, not the amount. Do you know that walnuts are a great source omega 3 FATS – Let this be a reminder of the walnut’s purpose; what do WALNUT HALVES look like? THE BRAIN!!!

Dealing with Chronic Pain part 1

One thing I have learned from experience is that one of the leading causes of body pain is lack of adequate omega 3 fats and too much Omega 6 fats which create a fat-like tissue hormone called prostaglandin number 2, or PG2 for short. Your pain could be caused by eating the wrong fat or NO fat at all. Do you know that the aspirin makers generate billions of dollars every year? They do this through the uninformed public who are trying to feel healthy by TRICKING the body. Really, taking an aspirin every day, regardless if it is a baby or adult time-released product, is NOT GOOD FOR YOU!! You are throwing off the normal fat physiology in your body.

What makes this even more important is that when a person’s copper levels are up, the body cannot convert T4, the body’s most abundant thyroid hormone, to the very important and more potent T3. When you don’t have the conversion because of to much copper and poor liver function you will be forever exhausted. If you continue to eat grain-based sweetened carbohydrates you will be exhausted FOREVER! By the way, soy and wheat also deplete the resources of zinc in your body. Let me tell you a bit or two about the ZINC story. When ZINC is low COPPER is HIGH. Symptoms of high copper include lying in bed with an exhausted body but a brain going at 100 MPH. I know I am talking directly to someone right now.

 Sugar depletes your body of very significant and important vital vitamins and minerals. Specifically, sugar will deplete your body of zinc. If you do not have enough zinc your body cannot create enough quality insulin to process all those carbs that you just realized that you ate. Insulin is required by the body to put the fuel or glucose into your cells. Hell, are you hearing me right now?

Let me be honest – you are not going to have ENERGY if you continue to eat SUGAR, SODA and ICE CREAM. It just is not going to happen. And regardless what the media and confectionery producers tell you, chocolate is not a HEALTH FOOD!!! When you look at your diet history observe how many sweets you eat, along with dairy, wheat and soy products; those items are all energy zappers!
